What to expect
We offer comprehensive physiotherapy services to help your dog recover from injuries, manage pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being. Our treatments include manual therapy (massage, joint mobilisations), gait and posture analysis, rehabilitation programs, and customised strengthening exercises.
We also utilise Laser Therapy, Pulse Electromagnetic Therapy, cryotherapy and heat therapy, to reduce pain and promote healing.
For senior dogs or those with chronic conditions, we provide mobility enhancement and pain management therapies to improve comfort and quality of life.
Your dog’s first session will typically last up to 1 hour (sometimes a bit longer) and includes a thorough assessment of their movement, posture, and medical history. Based on this evaluation, we will design a personalised treatment plan to address your dog’s specific needs. Subsequent sessions generally last around 45 minutes to 1 hour.
We’re here to support your dog through every stage of recovery or performance enhancement, ensuring they feel better and live their best life.

How can Canine Physiotherapy help my dog?
Physiotherapy can offer several benefits for your dog, depending on their condition. Here are some ways it can help:
Pain relief: Reduces discomfort caused by injuries, arthritis, or surgery.
Improves mobility: Helps regain movement after surgery, injury, or due to degenerative conditions.
Muscle strengthening: Targets weak or atrophied muscles, aiding in rehabilitation and improving strength.
Joint flexibility: Increases range of motion, especially for dogs with stiff joints (e.g., hip dysplasia, arthritis).
Post-surgical recovery: Accelerates healing after surgeries like ACL repair, hip replacement, or spinal procedures.
Improved posture: Corrects alignment issues or compensatory movement patterns.
Prevents further injury: Strengthens muscles and joints to reduce the risk of future problems.
Reduces inflammation: Techniques like cold therapy or ultrasound can help reduce swelling and promote healing.
Enhances circulation: Increases blood flow, which helps tissue healing and overall function.
Balance and coordination: Improves proprioception and helps dogs regain stable movement.
Weight management: Supports healthy movement, which can aid in weight loss or weight maintenance for overweight dogs.

What can Canine Physiotherapy help my dog with?
Canine physiotherapy can help with a wide range of conditions and situations. Here are key areas where it can be beneficial:
Post-surgery recovery: Assists in regaining strength and mobility after surgeries like hip replacement, cruciate ligament surgery, or spinal surgery.
Arthritis and joint conditions: Eases pain and improves mobility in dogs with conditions like hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and osteoarthritis.
Muscle weakness and atrophy: Targets rehabilitation for dogs experiencing muscle wasting due to injury, aging, or disease.
Soft tissue injuries: Aids in recovery from strains, sprains, or ligament injuries, such as a torn ACL.
Neurological conditions: Helps with rehabilitation after neurological injuries (e.g., intervertebral disc disease, spinal cord injury) to improve mobility and coordination.
Post-injury rehabilitation: Facilitates recovery from fractures, sprains, or other traumatic injuries.
Chronic pain management: Provides relief from long-term pain due to conditions like arthritis or intervertebral disc disease (IVDD).
Balance and coordination: Improves proprioception (sense of body position) in dogs with coordination issues, especially after neurological or orthopedic conditions.
Gait correction: Helps correct abnormal gait patterns caused by injury, surgery, or muscle imbalances.
Weight management: Assists in improving mobility for overweight dogs and can be part of a comprehensive weight-loss strategy.
Prevention of future injuries: Strengthens muscles and joints to reduce the risk of re-injury, especially in active or aging dogs.
Age-related mobility issues: Helps senior dogs maintain mobility and manage discomfort from natural aging processes.
Physiotherapy offers both therapeutic treatments and preventive care tailored to your dog’s specific needs, improving their quality of life and functional abilities.
